Over the years, the allure of the NBA All-Star Game has diminished slightly. The league has tried a bunch of different quirks and formats in an effort to get the players on the court to care more about a largely meaningless exhibition—the latest of which involves a mini tournament of four teams. Even the marquee events surrounding the game like the Slam Dunk Contest don’t draw big names anymore (Mac McClung, going for a historic threepeat in this year’s competition, is a G-League guy). One thing that hasn’t changed, though? All-Star Weekend remains the biggest sneaker showcase of the year.
From on-court colorways to signature silhouette debuts to lifestyle kicks, brands in the sneaker and sportswear space use ASW as a jumping-off point for the year ahead. All-Star 2025, which kicks off in the Bay Area today, is no exception. Some of the biggest drops of the year are landing in the next few days, from the greatest sneaker of all time to some fire on-court colorways. Here’s everything you need to know about the best sneakers dropping during All-Star Weekend 2025.
Nike Kobe 6 Protro All-Star 2.0
Given that Kobe Bryant was an 18-time All-Star with one of Nike’s best signature lines of all time, it’d be a crime for there not to be at least one killer Mamba drop every February. This year’s edition pays homage to his ASW exploits, with the Kobe 6’s typical scales pattern replaced with an array of diamonds and stars. The kicks were released early, on February 13, with pairs now available through resale platforms.
