We won’t know if Lana Del Rey will win her first (or second or third) very overdue and well-deserved Grammy Award until the ceremony is over, but we can say one thing for sure: Del Rey definitely deserves an award for some of the best glam on the red carpet.
No stranger to vintage hairstyles that reference eras bygone, Del Rey stayed true to her aesthetic—but this time, with a modern, goth glam twist. The Grammy nominee rocked a voluminous blowout and beehive bangs topped with an oversized retro bow, donning her token over-lined brownie lips, fluffy cat-eye lashes, and a hint of champagne shimmer on her eyelids for makeup.
Del Rey’s all-black ensemble similarly did not disappoint. The “Honeymoon” singer wore a sheer, floral puff-sleeved 1960s-inspired dress and matching sheer gloves and pumps complete with bows, giving some Wednesday Addams vibes meets coquette meets 1960s housewife.
Over all, however, Del Rey’s look is peak Brigitte Bardot meets Jackie Kennedy, and obviously, 100% iconic. Which is, of course, no surprise coming from the Skims campaign star.
Speaking of icons, Del Rey took some time to pose with her close friend and musical collaborator Taylor Swift on the red-carpet, which means Swifties and Lana stans’ hearts and minds are exploding everywhere (Stan Reddit, are you good?).
Dressed like each other’s polar opposites—Del Rey in all black, and Swift in a classic white gown—the dynamic duo is kind of giving the devil and angel on your shoulder. And I am not complaining; in fact, are they taking shoulder clients?
I can’t wait to see the memes that come from the above photoshoot. Until then, I’ll be checking my beloved Lana Del Rey Subreddit to make sure they’re doing OK.
