Robert Pattinson’s sneaker collection is heavy on three specific brands. He’s long had a soft spot for throwback Adidas kicks; his Dior ambassadorship means he owns plenty of the luxury label’s signature trainers, too; and by that same token, he’s also famously worn a pair of Dior’s hallowed collaborative Air Jordan 1s. But yesterday, the British actor added a fourth brand into the mix. Welcome, Salomon.
Just days after pulling up to the National Board of Review Gala in New York, Pattinson showed up in Seoul on Monday to promote his next big film, Mickey 17. At a press conference alongside director Bong Joon-ho, The Batman star stepped out in a pair of Salomons. But while most gorp-adjacent trainer guys would go for the XT-6 or the Speedcross 3 or even the ACS Pro that’s been gaining a lot of steam lately, Pattinson opted for a more underrated silhouette: the Jungle Ultra Low.
First introduced in 2023, this is a low-cut lifestyle version of Salomon’s Jungle Ultra hiking boot. Crafted from mesh, leather, suede and all that good stuff, it sits on top of a Contagrip outsole that’s designed to hold tight on all surfaces. It also comes with the Advanced Chassis technology to keep everything locked in place, and the SensiFit system so everything is nice and snug. That might sound like a lot of technical jargon, but it basically just means this is a very good outdoors shoe.
The Jungle Ultra Low is a relatively low-hype sneaker, so you won’t have to line up or pay ridiculous resale prices to own a pair. But because Pattinson is a big shoe guy, he’s wearing a colorway that’s not even available yet. Because of course!
And Robert Pattinson isn’t the only recent Salomon convert. Last October, Timothée Chalamet was spotted in some all-black XA Pro 3D V9s while filming Marty Supreme. Bradley Cooper, who’s normally a Nike man, stepped out in the L’Art de L’Automobile XT-4s a month prior.
All the Salomon love in Hollywood makes sense, because the French brand’s shoes are enormously comfortable. And when you’re a very famous actor working very long hours, that’s a boon.
